It’s an extraordinary chance to save some money while getting the kids ready to return to school. For the first time, the State of Ohio has declared a Tax-Free Weekend for Back-to-School merchandise. From Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, 2015, there will be no sales tax on a variety of necessities. This applies to items of clothing priced $75 or less, school supplies priced $20 or less and instructional materials priced $20 or less. This tax-free status applies to each individual item, with no limit on total quantities consumers purchase. There are a few limits on the tax-free designation. For example, sports or recreation gear is still taxable, as are any items purchased for business purposes.
