Belmont County Safety Council Meeting - December

The sixth meeting of the FY16 Safety Council Program will be held on Thursday, December 3 from 12:00 Noon to 1 P.M. at the St. Clairsville Rec Center. The cost of the lunch is $15.00 with advanced reservations or $17.00 at the door for walk ins. We ask that you make a reservation to ensure that we have adequate seating and food for all of our attendees and speakers.

David Hoover, President of Forklift Training Systems, will present Forklift Safety the 3 part puzzle.  Forklift safety involves many parts, if all the parts don’t work together bad things can happen.  Learn how operators, pedestrians and management can work together to create a safer environment for everyone.

David Hoover grew up on a family farm near Newark Ohio and is a graduate of Miami University.  He began his career working for a forklift dealer before founding Forklift Training Systems in 1998.  He started the company to meet a growing demand for quality, site specific training created by the revised OSHA forklift training standard.  David has trained well over ten thousand forklift and aerial work platform operators and thousands of trainers.  He has conducted thousands of material handling safety audits and participated in many accident investigations throughout the U.S.  Mr. Hoover serves as an expert witness in Federal and State cases involving forklift injuries and fatalities.  Forklift Training Systems clients include companies, such as Scotts, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, Whirlpool and PPG.  He currently lives in Central Ohio with his wife and two children.
